Sonesta ES Suites Carmel Mountain San Diego

I recently stayed at the hotel and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. The communication among the Filipino staff was a challenge, they talk to each other in there language and without a purpose keep on laughing making us uncomfortable and the lack of a welcoming atmosphere was noticeable. Additionally, my sheets had blood stains, and the response to my complaint was less than satisfactory. I hope the management takes steps to address these issues for future guests. Somebody needs to change the entire crew of this hotel.

My family and I stayed here for hubby’s and I birthday new years weekend . The room was very close to parking , first floor which was nice for us since we had a lot of things as you can imagine family of 5. As far as the room it was very spacious and clean! Loved the full kitchen two bedrooms with separate full bathrooms. It was literally a mini apartment. Bonus sofa bed in the living room! The room was conveniently located in a shopping plaza that’s close to everything which we absolutely loved ! First night we ate at Olive Garden which was literally walking distance. Forgot to mention the free breakfast they have everyday ! They have a nice pool, gym , hot jacuzzi , and a nice fire pit area with bbq ! We will definitely be coming back here for our next San Diego trip! The staff were very friendly . Thank you !

My family stayed here while repairs were done on our home back in October-November 2020. We stayed here again for the same reason for about a week in June 2023. BOTH EXPERIENCES WERE HORRIBLE, even under the new management and branding. Rooms need better cleaning, they were dusty which aggrivated my allergies. I ended up wiping down the kitchen (including the sticky floor). The front doors do not seal properly when closed so there is a draft and the noise along the common hallways can be horrendous at times, especially when hearing the maid carts going back and forth all morning. You are told to leave your trash outside your door which is unsighly and unsecure - don't throw away items or paperwork with personal information. WiFi is not secure! You will be spied on. They charge daily for parking even though the lot is never full, much less monitored. Customer service is minimal under the new Sonesta brand (each location is a franchise with little oversight from corporate). I truly felt like an unwanted visitor instead of a valued customer. It is a shame because the rooms and property are wonderful, they just need better management. There are other brands with suites and extended stays nearby- go there! We moved to Homewood Suites by Hilton which I highly recommend.

Not well made at all. Could hear the people above us as if it were a turn of the century New York apartment. Freeway right out the window. Can't recommend this place unless you're on the top floor. Sidewalks hadn't been pressure washed in a while. They do have tennis courts, at least. So if you're into that, get yourself a top floor away from the freeways.
